Wadokei collects no personal data. Every calculation happens entirely on your device: the toki, the sekki, today's kō.
This policy covers Wadokei on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and Wadokei on Android. The two versions are built from the same design and handle your data the same way.
What we collect
Nothing. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
Location
The toki dial is drawn from the real sunrise and sunset at your position, so the app may use your device location to compute them.
If you grant location access, your coordinates are used only on your device to calculate local solar times. Your location is never sent to us or to any server, and it is never stored beyond the calculation. You can use the app without location access. It falls back to a fixed Tokyo reference instead.
Third-party services
The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs, and we run no servers of our own.
The only third parties are the stores themselves. Purchases are handled by Apple on the App Store and by Google on Google Play, each under their own privacy policy. We never receive your payment details or any personal information.
Google's billing library is built into the Android version and contacts Google Play to confirm what you have bought. That is why the Android app requests network access, and it is the only thing that access is used for. Nothing about you is sent anywhere by us, on either platform.
Data storage
Any settings stay on your device and are managed by you. Deleting the app removes everything. We hold no copy because we never received one.
Children
Wadokei collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date above.
