Flag Calendar collects no personal data. Every flag day, hoisting time and mast height is worked out entirely on your device.
This policy covers Flag Calendar on iPhone and Apple Watch, and the Android version that follows. Both are built from the same design and handle your data the same way.
What we collect
Nothing. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
Location
Hoisting and lowering times depend on where you are. Norway alone has three different hoisting times depending on the season and on whether you are north of the Arctic Circle, and several countries tie their times to sunrise or sunset.
If you grant location access, your coordinates are used only on your device to pick the right rule and to compute local solar times. Your location is never sent to us or to any server, and it is never stored beyond the calculation. You can use the app without location access by choosing your country yourself.
Notifications
Reminders the evening before a flag day and on the morning itself are scheduled locally by your device from the dates the app has already computed. Nothing is sent through a push server, so no reminder of yours ever passes through us.
Third-party services
The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs, and we run no servers of our own.
The only third parties are the stores themselves. Purchases are handled by Apple on the App Store and by Google on Google Play, each under their own privacy policy. We never receive your payment details or any personal information.
Google's billing library is built into the Android version and contacts Google Play to confirm what you have bought. That is why the Android app requests network access, and it is the only thing that access is used for. Nothing about you is sent anywhere by us, on either platform.
Links to the regulations behind each flag day open in your browser and go to the relevant government's own website. What happens there is covered by that site's privacy policy, not ours.
Data storage
Your chosen country, your reminder settings and anything else you set stay on your device and are managed by you. Deleting the app removes everything. We hold no copy because we never received one.
Children
Flag Calendar collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date above.
